I asked other FAWmers for their nightmares and here is the background for this from

I never had nightmares as a kid. Except this one time. Every time I'd look out the windows of my childhood home, I noticed that ants were getting really large. The first time was mouse-sized. The next time I looked, raccoon-sized. Then dog. etc. I kept trying to tell my parents, but they didn't listen to me and they sent me off to school. By the time I stepped outside, the ants were human-sized and had stopped being anatomically correct. They were now, basically guys in rubber lobster suits. I watched one chase down and tackle my sister. He plucked out her eyeballs with a pincer as she screamed. I tried to help her, but one grabbed me. This was nearly 40 years ago and I vividly remember the claw coming towards my eye and finally waking up with a scream."
